In May 2018, Ted Kipping gave a presentation to SFSCS on Islands of the Sea of Cortez, covering various islands to the east of Baja California (the Sea of Cortez is another name for the Gulf of California, lying between Baja and the Mexican mainland). This time, he returns with a program on islands to the west of the peninsula, out in the Pacific Ocean. These seldom-visited islands are home to many wonderful cacti and succulents.
Ted is a Life Member of the SFSCS as well as many other societies. He has lectured widely (12 times in Prague, alone) and has been published in many publications. Our club has visited his complex and species-rich home garden on several occasions.
He is a Certified and Consulting Arborist. Although he is deeply interested in the whole plant world, it is the largest – trees – which have paid most of his mortgage.
Jim Smith will be our featured grower this month.
