Soft Succulents

By Jeff Moore
Tuesday, February 13, 7:00 pm

Location: Auditorium in the San Francisco County Fair Building, 1199 9th Ave (at Lincoln Way), San Francisco MAP

Jeff Moore has been growing succulents for many years at his nursery in Solana Beach (San Diego County), and he is also well known for the exhibits he has put together for flower & garden shows, as well as for his "undersea gardens", which seek to create the impression of a coral reef using succulents as stand-ins for corals, starfish, sea anemones, etc.

In recent years he has evolved into a celebrated author of books on succulents. His first book, Under the Spell of Succulents, was published in 2014. He followed this with a second book two years later, Aloes & Agaves in Cultivation, and he gave a presentation to our club about it in January 2017. Now he is returning to tell us all about his third book, titled Soft Succulents. This latest project delves into the non-toothy rosette plants such as Aeoniums, Echeverias, Sedums, Dudleyas, etc. Jeff will be bringing copies of all three of his books, and he will be our February featured grower as well.

What to bring:

For the Show & Tell table, on the succulent side we will feature Aeoniums and Coryphantha on the cactus side, and anything else looking good that you would like to share.

Please bring baked goodies, fruit, snack food or a beverage if your last name begins with the letters S to Z and A to B, and any other members who would like to contribute this month.
